Meet Dr. Risbrudt
Dr. Nick Risbrudt, an optometrist at Vance Thompson Vision in West Fargo, ND, specializes in anterior segment surgical care including cataracts, corneal diseases, glaucoma, and refractive surgeries. Dr. Risbrudt has gained experience by completing two externships at Pinecone Vision Center in Sartell, MN, and Cass Lake Indian Hospital in Cass Lake, MN. He also worked as a clinician and optometric technician with Moorhead Vision Associates in Moorehead, MN.
Education and Training
A Fergus Falls, MN native, Dr. Risbrudt chose to pursue his undergraduate studies at Concordia College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. His education continued at Southern College of Optometry where he completed his doctorate. While studying at SCO, he earned his membership into the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and completed his training at The Eye Center in Memphis, TN.
He has volunteered in Nicaragua and Honduras, where he assisted local eye doctors and provided free eye exams. He is a member of the North Dakota Optometric Association and enjoys treating patients in a community near his hometown. As a Fergus Falls native, Dr. Risbrudt is excited to be working in the same area as where he grew up.
Hobbies and Personal Interests
He and his wife, Elle, enjoy spending time with family in Minnesota and North Dakota. In the summer, Dr. Risbrudt spends his weekends at the lake, fishing, and barefoot skiing. He also enjoys golfing and hunting.
