Principal Investigators

Dr. Vance Thompson - As a leading international researcher, Dr. Vance Thompson has played a key role in the development of the most advanced technologies and techniques for both laser and implant vision correction. Dr. Thompson was involved in the initial clinical trials for LASIK surgery, and since then, has been a part of the research and development of numerous other technologies, including implantable contact lenses, corneal crosslinking, corneal inlay, implantable intraocular lenses (Toric, Multifocal, and extended depth of focus), PRK, postoperative medication, new laser studies, and SMILE. He has served as the Medical Monitor, Principal Investigator, or Sub-Investigator in more than 65 clinical trials.

Dr. John Berdahl - Dr. Berdahl has become a key player in the research industry over the last decade. He has helped to move the needle forward on new glaucoma treatment devices and corneal procedures. Dr. Berdahl was involved in some of the early developments of MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) procedures. Dr. Berdahl has continued to explore his passion for treating glaucoma and research through his role as founder/CEO of the medical device company, Equinox. He has served as Medical Monitor, Principal Investigator, or Sub-Investigator on over 25 clinical trials.
